In September 1991, baseball’s Committee on Statistical Accuracy changed the official definition of the feat, saying, “A no-hitter is a game in which a pitcher or pitchers complete a game of nine innings or more without allowing a hit.” That dropped 50 games off the record books.

might as well add the spring training no hitter..on March 21,1965 Gary Kroll & Gordy Richardson combined to no hit Pittsburgh 6-0 in St.Petersburg..my reference is on page 30 of the ’65 Mets yearbook which shows a picture of Richardson throwing a pitch in the 9th inning & a picture of Kroll & Richardson getting congratulations from the Mets front office brass the following day..
