Johan Santana threw seven innings of five-hit shutout ball Sunday as the New York Mets topped the Atlanta Braves 3-0.
Santana walked three and struck out five to earn his seventh win of the season. He lost his no-hitter in the first inning on an Omar Infante single, adding another game to our NoNoHitters.com count to bring it to 7,332 New York Mets games with no no-no.
The Mets scored the go-ahead run in the third inning on an Alex Cora single. Ike Davis hit a solo homer in the sixth inning, and Josh Thole added an RBI single in the eighth.
