Korean Baseball Organization no-hitters

kboThe Korean Baseball Organization has had 13 no-hitters since the league was founded in 1981.

The KBO has had open Opening Day no-hitter (Sang Ho-yeon of the OB Bears in 1988) and one post-season no-no (Jeong Myeong-won of the Hyundai Unicorns in Game 4 of the 1994 Korean Series. There has never been a KBO perfect game, but Jeong Min-cheol of the Hanwha Eagles came close. His 1997 no-hitter would have been a perfect game if a batter hadn’t reached first base on a dropped third strike.

Charles Shirek, a Minot, N.D. native, is the first American to throw a Korean no-hitter.
