New York Giants no-hitters

The New York Giants, a team that first played under the moniker the New York Gothams, threw eight no-hitters before leaving the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan and moving across the country to San Francisco for the 1958 season.

The franchise has thrown a total of 16 no-nos, with the final eight coming during the team’s time in San Francisco. (View the full list here; view the list of only San Francisco Giants no-hitters here.)

Amos Rusie threw the franchise’s first no-hitter in 1891, and Christy Mathewson is the only New York Giants pitcher to throw two no-hitters. George "Hooks" Wiltse took a perfect game into the ninth inning on July 4, 1908, before hitting George McQuillen with a pitch. He finished with a 10-inning no-hitter.
