Happy birthday to the St. Louis Cardinals Grant “Stoney” McGlynn, who threw a 7-inning darkness-shortened no-hitter in 1906.
McGlynn, who was born on this day in 1872, no-hit the Brooklyn Superbas at Brooklyn’s Washington Park for seven innings during the nightcap of a September 24, 1906 doubleheader before the 1-1 game was called due to darkness.
