The Chicago Cubs’ Jon Lester took a no-hitter into the seventh inning on Monday before losing it on a hard-hit ball to third.

The St. Louis Cardinals’ Jhonny Peralta lined the ball just over the bag, making a tough play for third baseman Kris Bryant. Peralta reached safety and the official scorer rightfully ruled the play a hit. The Cardinals scored two runs in the inning.

Lester threw his only career no-hitter for the Boston Red Sox in 2008.
