Happy 57th birthday to the Chicago White Sox’s Joe Cowley, who threw a no-hitter in 1986.
On Friday, September 19, 1986, at Anaheim Stadium, Cowley no-hit the California Angels for a 7-1 victory despite walking seven batters.
The Angels scored the team’s lone run in the sixth inning after Cowley walked the first three batters and then gave up a sacrifice fly to Reggie Jackson.
