The Houston Astros’ Mike Fiers has thrown a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the first no-no at Minute Maid Park.
Fiers walked three and struck out 10 on a night in which no-no king Nolan Ryan was watching.
The last no-hitter thrown by the Astros was the first six-pitcher no-no in major league history. Roy Oswalt (1 inn.), Peter Munro (2 2/3 inn.), Kirk Saarloos (1 1/3 inn.), Brad Lidge (2 inn.), Octavio Dotel (1 inn.) and Billy Wagner (1 inn.) combined to no-hit the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, June 11, 2003.
The last no-hitter thrown against the Dodgers was a Seattle Mariners accomplishment tied the six-pitcher mark. The tandem of Kevin Millwood (6 inn.), Charlie Furbush (2/3 inn.), Stephen Pryor (1/3 inn.), Lucas Luetge (1/3 inn.), Brandon League (2/3 inn) and Tom Wilhelmsen (1 inn.), no-hit L.A. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Safeco Field.
