The Chicago White Sox’s Ted Lyons threw a no-hitter, 89 years ago today.
On Saturday, August 21, 1926, Lyons no-hit the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park for a 6-0 win. Lyons walked just one batter — the lead-off hitter — but the Red Sox committed three errors.
