The Montreal Expos’ Bill Stoneman threw a no-hitter against the New York Mets, 43 years ago today.
Stoneman, pitching the first game of a doubleheader at Parc Jarry, walked 7 batters but kept the Mets from notching a single scratch hit for a 7-0 win. It marked Stoneman’s second no-hitter for the young Expos franchise.
Also, on this date in 1908, the Cleveland Naps’ Addie Joss tossed a perfect game against the Chicago White Sox for a 2-0 victory at League Park. It was Joss’ second no-hitter.
