Happy 61st birthday to Dennis Eckersley, who threw a no-hitter for the Cleveland Indians in 1977.
On Monday, May 30, 1977, Eckersley no-hit the California Angels for a 1-0 win at Cleveland Stadium. Eckersley struck out 12 and allowed his only base runner in the first inning by walking Tony Solaita. He retired the next 25 batters to complete the no-no.
