The San Diego Padres’ Dylan Cease threw the second no-hitter in franchise history Thursday, blanking the Washington Nationals for a 3-0 victory.
Cease struck out nine and walked three, taking an early three-run lead and going the distance with 114 pitches during a day game at Nationals Park
Cease had just missed tossing a no-no with the Chicago White Sox on Sept. 3, 2022, when the Minnesota Twins’ Luis Arráez lined a single to right-center with two out in the ninth.

And this was after a long rain delay in the top of the 1st. So Cease had to warm up, then wait over an hour for the game to resume, and still hurl a no-no. Impressive! Congrats to Dylan (or should I say, “Dealin'”) Cease!
