NoNoHitters.com was created by veteran author and journalist Dirk Lammers, a New Jersey native who began rooting for the New York Mets in the early-1970s when the team’s no no-hitter count was barely 2,000 games old. In 2016, Lammers turned his comprehensive research into the book Baseball’s No-Hit Wonders: More Than a Century of Pitching’s Greatest Feats.
Lammers, who has spent much of his career writing for The Associated Press and The Tampa Tribune, tapped his love of baseball in 2008 to create NoNoHitters.com and begin tracking the Mets’ quest for the team’s first no-hitter. For 4½ years, Lammers dutifully added to the growing game count after each contest’s inevitable first hit, tweeting out the new number and the hitter responsible. That all changed on June 1, 2012, when southpaw Johan Santana finally accomplished the feat for the Mets after 8,019 regular season games. (See news coverage of the site here.)
NoNoHitters.com has since evolved into the online gathering point for all things related to no-hitters, including Negro Leagues no-hitters, international pitching gems and the San Diego Padres’ quest for that team’s first no-no (the circa-1969 franchise is the only one left awaiting a no-no celebration). Lammers is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR).

Thanks so much, Sandi! From what I understand from my publisher, it should be available on NetGalley soon. Glad you’re looking forward to it and I’d love to hear what you think.
Dirk
Is there a book signing with the author this week in Tampa? I’d like to attend.
