Germany’s Baseball-Bundesliga, the top level baseball league in the country, was established in 1982. The Mannheim Tornados dominated the league in the 1980s-90s, giving way to the Paderborn Untouchables in the early 2000s. The Regensburg Legionäre captured back-to-back-to-back-to-back championships in the 2010s.

Note that the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Edwin Jackson is the only German-born pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the majors. Jackson no-hit the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, June 25, 2010 for a 1-0 interleague win at Tropicana Field. Jackson, the son of a U.S. Army officer, was born in Neu-Ulm (Bavaria) but moved to Columbus, Georgia, when he was 8 years old.
Our research has identified 16 no-hitters dating back to 2008, though there were likely many thrown between 1982 and 2007. If you have any additional information, please pass along lists, stories, box scores, anecdotes, etc. to dirk@nonohitters.com so we can flesh out this list.
